The Perron Institute has announced the appointment of two non-Executive Directors who bring to the Board wide-ranging skills and experience in the corporate, commercial and not-for-profit sectors.
Vicki Robinson, who holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Commerce from The University of Western Australia, has extensive non-executive director and executive experience across a broad range of industries, including current directorships with RACWA Holdings, RAC Finance and the St Ives Group.
Vicki also brings to her new role experience gained over twenty years in senior executive, legal and commercial management roles with the Wesfarmers Limited group.
She was a member of the Wesfarmers Leadership Team and the Company Secretary for Wesfarmers Limited and several Wesfarmers Group subsidiary companies from March 2020 to October 2023.
Irish-born Marie Smyth is an accomplished business professional with a long career and strong track record in leadership roles – building relationships, developing people and driving commercial success.
With regional and global responsibilities variously, she holds and has held senior positions at ASX listed company DUG Technology, with a focus on leadership, innovation and customer service.
Previously, she was National Sales and Business Development Manager at Lundbeck Australia, a pharmaceutical company specialising in neurological diseases.
In the earlier part of her career, with qualifications in psychiatric and general nursing, Marie was with the Department of Health, working at many hospitals in WA including Royal Perth, Sir Charles Gairdner and Heathcote, and as an inaugural member of the Psychiatric Emergency Team.
“At a time when the Perron Institute is surging ahead with its wide-ranging program of neurological and translational research, as well as clinical care, Vicki Robinson and Marie Smyth have much to contribute at a strategic level and generally,” said Rob McKenzie, Perron Institute Chair.
“We are delighted they have joined the Perron Institute Board.”
