The Genetic Epidemiology group focus on research on using genomic technologies in longitudinal studies as predictors for neurodegenerative outcomes.
Molecular Therapy Laboratory
The Molecular Therapy Laboratory research focuses on the use of ASOs to mask part of a genetic message associated with a particular inherited disease.
Motor Neurone Disease
The Motor Neurone Disease Genetics and Therapeutics Research Group aims to identify genetic mechanisms and mutations in neurological conditions, particularly motor neurone diseases.
Myositis
The Myositis research team aims to improve understanding and treatment of myositis, through the translational ‘Myositis Discovery Program’.
Neurotrauma
The TBI Neurotrauma Research Group investigates oxidative DNA damage in oligodendrocytes as a link between neurotrauma, neurodegeneration, and demyelinating disease.
Neurovascular and Metabolic Diseases
The Neurovascular and Metabolic Diseases group focuses on understanding and treating the complex interactions between neurological conditions and metabolic processes.
Palliative Care
The Palliative Care group takes a public health approach, recognising the community as an equal partner in delivering quality end-of-life care.
Parkinson’s
The Restorative Neurology group uses non-invasive brain stimulation to study the pathophysiology of cerebral dysfunction in Parkinson's disease (PD) and multiple sclerosis (MS).
