No extra defect in IVF study

“The question of whether in-vitro fertilsation (IVF) is linked to abnormalities in babies has long worried parents and been debated by scientists.

A new study, published in Nature Medicine, has found that it makes no difference.

Researchers from six countries including Australia, studied samples from 62 couples who had a baby through natural conception and 49 who became parents after IVF.

Professor Sulev Kōks from Murdoch University and the Perron Institute, said it could give comfort to people considering, or using IVF, to have a baby.”
