Sarah’s Story

In 2019, Sarah Shellabear tragically suffered a stroke and passed away without the chance to say goodbye to her three daughters, four grandchildren, her husband of 35 years, and her many friends. She was only 61, with the best years of her life ahead of her. Yet, Stroke – the silent killer, is 90% preventable.  Determined to make a difference, the Shellabear family initiated a program to fund research and education, leading to the establishment of Western Australia’s first Chair of Stroke Medicine in partnership with the Perron Institute and the University of Western Australia.

Your support for this cause is vital so that Sarah’s life and so many others like her are not wasted,  and a lasting legacy for future generations is created for the benefit of all families.
